Baan Ying started as a small food stall in Bangkok and has since expanded to multiple branches. It prides itself on serving traditional Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients and prepared with the utmost care.

🍽️What Makes Baan Ying Unique?

Aside from the delicious food which we shall be talking about shortly, Baan Ying also offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant's interior is inspired by traditional Thai houses, complete with wooden furniture and dim lighting that create a warm and inviting ambiance. Baan Ying is also known for its friendly and attentive staff who will make you feel at home.

🍛Must-Try Dishes in Baan Ying

One dish that you should definitely try is the Pad Thai with River Prawns (240 THB). It comes with two plump prawns that give it a striking visual touch. Taste-wise, it's amazing, but it does not deviate far away from cheaper alternatives in terms of quality and taste. This is why if you are on a budget, there's no need to try Pad Thai in fancier restaurants because the experience is almost the same. When I was telling this to my good friend, Emil, I said that the Pad Thai in street food stalls rates from 4.3 to 4.5, while those in restaurants are 4.5 to 4.7.

Nevertheless, if you are the type of person who does not want to dive into the inner streets, this Pad Thai is definitely something you should go for. Among all the Pad Thai dishes I tried during my visit last April 2023, this perhaps ranks second

Another must-try dish is the Mango Sticky Rice (195 THB). Baan Ying's take is very visually enticing coupled with a more pandan-infused sticky rice that gives it an edge compared to the usual ones you'll find in Thailand. When it comes to taste, it's heaven, but I did wish that there were more of the sticky rice than the mangoes. I already got to finish the sticky rice while still having more than half of the mangoes. Still, hands-down, excellent!

If you're looking for a taste of authentic Thai cuisine without the need to dive into the inner streets of Thailand, Baan Ying Restaurant should be on top of your list. Don't forget to try their Pad Thai with River Prawns and Mango Sticky Rice, and indulge in the cozy and welcoming atmosphere that Baan Ying offers.
