Greetings dear readers of A-Not-So-Popular Kid,

After reaching my page views milestone, I decided to write an about me page, so you'll know the man behind the posts. I have been blogging for more about 10 years now, and I just think that maybe you'll take some interest to get to know me better.

The blogger behind A Not-So-Popular Kid
I am presently working in a local startup as a finance person. Surprisingly enough, you'll notice that I am far from being a food expert or food critic. All I have, in connection with food, is my deep affection and appreciation of it. Hence, when I write, I just say my opinion or what I felt about the food I eat - nothing more (or sometimes there is when I practice playing with words, or when I feel a little playful).

In short, it's really my love for food and documenting things that made me come up with a blog.

Aside from this blog, I also launched my travel blog named Wander Kid Travels where I am housing my travel experiences, this is due to the reason of keeping this blog primarily focused on food particularly on Metro Manila.

I have been blogging for 12 years now, and this particular blog is happily running for 10 years now.

The Palate
What I generally find delicious are food with balanced and harmonious flavors. These are the kinds of dishes that I can usually finish from start to end. Some exceptions are those dishes that have sharply potent taste but come in a sufficiently measured portion (just enough before I reach my satiation threshold).

I understand that we all have different taste buds, and what appeals to me might not appeal to you. Hence, just take my insights with a grain of salt.

By the way, my top 3 favorite cuisines are Japanese, Italian and Filipino.

Why do I blog?
My initial purpose for blogging is to actually open myself up with other people, as well as to further improve my communication skills via writing. This is aside from the fact that I can preserve memories through my posts, which I can conveniently re-visit in the future. Even up to now, blogging for me still has that purpose. However, it now also serves another purpose of sharing my food exploration experiences and love for food in general. I just love telling stories in my blog posts!

Why "A Not-So-Popular Kid"?
I started blogging in 2010 (in Posterous, which just closed down in 2012), and I still consider myself as a kid back then. Since I saw myself as a "commoner" or in other words, "unpopular", I decided to highlight that one up. Yes, I know this blog title has no connection with food. This is because I started this blog as a personal one to serve as a journal that will preserve good memories. Eventually, I discovered my love for food, so slowly my blog evolved into a food blog.

About A Not-So-Popular Kid
A Not-So-Popular Kid is a blog revolving around food and stories. It mainly features my own reviews and insights regarding the food places and restaurants I explored (and will explore). I also created this to guide foodies in their future food explorations, and to make non-foodies appreciate dishes of various cuisines.

Brief Analytics (Based on September 2021 to August 2022 Data)
This blog receives over 17,000 page views each month, averaging at about 600 page views a day. Most of the Filipino readers come from Quezon City representing 29% of total visitors. Followed by Manila City 20% and Makati 6%.

Disclaimer
I (or most often, my family) am the one paying for the food I order, unless expressly stated otherwise. You can identify them by finding the words "got invited to" or anything likewise in the introductory paragraph. The ones labeled "sponsored" indicate that the post is, well, sponsored. Another indicator is the star ratings which I place on "unsponsored" and "uninvited" posts.

I'll keep on updating this page, but for now, that's all I can say. Don't forget to subscribe through email and like the Facebook Page!

Is it ok to post my blog? You can delete it though.
