McCafe in Maybank Theater, BGC - a paradise for comfort!
Too stressed out in BGC
Work can often be too stressful, and normally I tend to “eat” my stress out. However, things got problematic when we moved to our new office in BGC. I know you’ll say, “Uy, madaming makakainan sa BGC ah”, and yes you are right, but the sad thing is, most of these good eats are far from the building where I work. One hour of lunch won’t be sufficient to walk my way to the restaurant, dine in and then walk back. That will just leave me with probably 40 minutes inside the restaurant, take away the waiting time, and I’ll end up with 20 minutes for my food. With this kind of set-up, stress became more unmanageable for me.
The nearest decent food establishment is McCafe, but I initially shelved the idea because I heard they don’t serve anything here but coffee and cakes. However, that was until I got to actually visit the place.
Power of a comforting ambiance
When I entered the cafe, a wave of relaxation greeted me — like a hug from a friend whom I haven’t seen for a while. I looked around, and comfort swept me off my feet. I then realized that it’s not just food that has the power to eliminate my stress — fantastic ambiance do too.
The small details inside the cafe also helps create this ambiance that wraps you up in comfort like a blanket.
I ordered Mochaccino (P170), afterwards I just spent the remaining minutes sitting back and sipping my drink. I felt all the negativity flowing out, and then I realized that I found my newest sanctuary. McCafe is capable of turning a stressful day into something highly manageable. Hence, whenever I feel all burnt up, I’d drop a visit and unwind here.
They also have frappes here such as this Oreo Frappe (P175). Those with sweet tooth will definitely fall in love with this refreshing drink. In the photo alone, you can see how tantalizing the Oreo bits were.
Oh, also they accept Paymaya here which allows me to get rebates. This makes everything even more perfect! In fact, there was time when there was a rebate of P100 for at least P150 of spending. I ended up paying P50 each time I visited. It was sweet!

McCafe is a place where the serenity of the ambiance gets so contagious that it flushes stress and negativity you have accumulated at work. It’s magnificent, and I’m very much elated that I came across this wonderful cafe. Knowing that such place exist near the building where I work eases me up. Perhaps, I’ll see you there?
