Cantonese Delights in Jasmine Restaurant, New World Hotel

After a busy day at work, I was so glad and relieved to find out that my dad is taking me to Jasmine Restaurant. Thanks to his boss who gave him coupons for us to enjoy.

I was so thrilled for two reasons. First, I got the chance to bond with my dad. Second, it was an opportunity for me to unwind and take the stress out after a mentally exhausting day. Anyway, I'm here to share with you my experience in trying out a few (particularly 3) dishes here in Jasmine Restaurant of New World Hotel, Makati.

Interior of Jasmine Restaurant, New World Hotel

The interior of Jasmine Restaurant blends modern touches with traditional Chinese restaurant set-up. This can be noticed with the predominance of "red"in its furniture and design. The ambiance is also perfect for semi-formal to formal dates as well as for business meetings.

The menu is very easy to browse through, and they seem to be offering a great line-up of dishes. However, for this night, my dad and I just had one dimsum and two main dishes over a bowl of Jasmine rice for each of us.

The Xiao Long Bao here in Jasmine Restaurant would qualify as excellent in terms of taste and overall appeal. It was able to capture the delicate texture and potent flavor of the soup in its core. Highly recommeded!

Among the three dishes we had, this was the "lackluster". The quality was great, but the "Kung Pao" taste was considerably ordinary for the slight premium over the dish. The flavors seemed to have not seeped into the fibers of the meat, causing it to brush of the palate and then quickly fades.

Thankfully, the other two dishes we had greatly pulls up our dining experience for this night!

Braised soft bean curd with salted egg yolk || P420

The bean curd was immensely silky and velvety causing it to slide in your buds once it touches the mouth. This smoothness is challenged by the light roughness of the salted egg, making each bite momentous. It's definitely incredible, and my dad approves as well! Must-try!

Dishes prepared here in Jasmine Restaurant are surely of great quality, although admittedly without the coupons, the prices may not be so friendly. However, in exchange, you'll be experiencing great ambiance and service. I may return back for more of the bean curd in salted egg!
