Experiencing Cocido De España of City Garden Grand Hotel, Makati
City Garden Grand Hotel (CGGH) launches “Cocido de Espana” for the whole month of August. Cocido de Espana offers lunch and dinner ala carte of well-loved Spanish cuisines in both Spice Café and Firefly Roofdeck. Every evening, a Spanish- Mongolian buffet will also be available to celebrate the cuisine!
For this night, I was given the opportunity to sample the buffet, and I had two of my awesome friends with me to perk up the night. You'll get to see them later, but for now, let's check out the place and the food.
The Firefly Roofdeck
It's amazing here in the roof deck. You'll feel the open air and the breeze which take away all the city stress. This is why, if you find yourself hassled up with a magnitude of work during the day, you may want to unwind and chill here in the Firefly.
From time to time, there are bands to serenade you as you chill at the top of the hotel. The music, together with the magnificent view, really helps out in setting the right foodie mood. Speaking of, let's proceed with what we may enjoy here.
The appetizer section is lean with its cold cuts selection, cheese, biscuits, sausages and prosciutto.
Also, do check out the prosciutto because it is truly full of flavors! Yes, that the prosciutto in its un-sliced form.
Now, as I was saying earlier, I was with these two to accompany me through the night. You're awesome guys!
Going back, you'll also find freshly baked salmon for those who are into seafood, though the photo below shows only a portion of that salmon. Oops!
For meat lovers, there is also something in store for you, as you may choose among roast pork, beef and chicken. Of course, no one is preventing you to taste 'em all!
If you are the type of person who can't last a night eat-out without pasta, fret not because you can try the Pumpkin Hazelnut pasta. The taste was intriguing and new for the palate!
Other dishes on the buffet spread include this veggie and another version of the salmon.
There is also this beef dish called Solomillo Salsa De Vino Tinto.
There are also Mongolian bowls which are part of the traditional dishes to try here in the Firefly Roofdeck. You may choose among various combinations of ingredients, meats, sauces and noodles/rice.
However, if you prefer to go Spanish all the way, you may want to taste the two (2) paellas available on the spread. You can either go for the Paella Negra where the rice is cooked with squid ink.
Or go for the more classic Seafood Paella. It has bountiful Seafood goodness to satisfy your paella cravings.
Unfortunately, there is not much variety when it comes to dessert, but you may either have fresh fruits or a special dessert selection for the night. That night the dessert was Arroz Con Leche.
There you go! Now, before I end this blog post, let me share with you this wonderful sunset skies view from the Firefly Roofdeck. It was surely a breathtaking view, perfect to end a stressful day!
The rate of the buffer is P795 nett. Cocido De España is available in City Garden Grand Hotel which is located in 8008 Makati Avenue corner Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City, Philippines. Check it out for this month of August!
