Sweet Caroline's Specialty Torte Cheesecakes - must try!

Sweet Caroline's Specialty Torte Cheesecakes - must try!

It’s holiday season once again, and it’s the perfect excuse to indulge on some sweets a little more than the usual. Now, if you are reading this article off-Christmas, well, no one will still judge you from treating yourself with some delectable desserts. Anyway, in this blog post, I’ll be sharing some fresh home-baked desserts of my good friend Carol, who just started her baking venture amid this pandemic. Her online shop goes by the name Sweet Caroline, and we’ll be checking out 3 of her torte cheesecakes.

Now before we dive into these dishes, let me just share some origin to this. Back when I was still working on my first job, Carol used to bring some cupcakes from time to time. On the days that she did (i.e. brought some goodies), those days instantly turned literally and figuratively sweet! Even back then, we were insisting Carol to set up her online bakeshop because her cupcakes were simply delish. While it took almost 5 years, she finally did take that advice and started her baking business this 2020.

Anyway, let’s get to it shall we?

First off, we have the Luscious Custard Cheesecake (P500). Think of Brazo de Mercedes, but creamier, cheesier and dreamier. Hands down, as this instantly took my heart away at first bite. I just love how full the custard was yet retained its immense creaminess. Among the three, this could be the sweetest, but trust me, it’s worth the calories!

The Crème Brûlée Cheesecake (P485) is a classic selection here in Sweet Caroline, and perhaps the best-seller among all. Similar to the traditional crème brulee the top part was glazed and torched giving it this iconic spotty look. Rightly sweet, and the texture is intensely thick yet creamy, and melts in the mouth like an ice cream.

Last but definitely not the least (although true for being the least sweet among the three) is the Carrot Cheesecake Torte (P500). The cake alone is a treat in itself especially with how moist the base is. There are also smaller chunks of fine walnuts giving the texture more dynamics. Then it is topped with a layer of cream cheese-based frosting giving it the creaminess that further enhance the overall taste!

Blogger's Suggestion:
All three were amazing, and I can’t even choose one as my favorite because each is unique, and has something different to offer. If you want something custardy and indulgently creamy and sweet, then go for the Luscious Custard. If you are a cream cheese kind of guy, then I’d suggest you take the Crème Brulee. Now, if you want something relatively less sweet yet still indulgently good, then the Carrot Cheesecake is best for you. Of course, if you have the budget and people to share with, why not buy ‘em all.

The prices shown in this blog post are for small size (6” x 1.5” round, good for 3-4 pax). If you are eyeing for a bigger crowd or appetite, Sweet Caroline also offers large size (8.5” x 2” round good for 8-12 pax).
