Melt Grilled Cheesery - Comfort + Chill in Molito, Alabang
Following the night of our Christmas Party in Alabang, we wanted to go for some board games. Hence, we decided to drop by Puzzles in Molito and spend the rest of the afternoon there. After all, we just love playing board games — all kids at heart.
On our way to Puzzles, we were already enumerating the games we will play. Heck, our imaginations even started churning out scenarios of how we would all be laughing as we play the games. However, when we arrived at the front of the restaurant, we saw chains binding the door handle and a piece of paper containing sad words of goodbye. We mourned for minutes, let the reality sunk and eventually walked away, heartbroken.
The pain of seeing businesses close down
If there’s one “random” thing that makes me sad, that’s witnessing a closure of a business. I somehow get to tap on the feeling of “loss” (financially and all other aspects). Also, I’ve witnessed unsuccessful attempts of my mom and dad when it comes to opening businesses, making this sadness even more personal. Anyway, I just shrugged those emotions. After all, it was Christmas month.
We checked all the options within Molito, and nothing seemed to have sparked our interest. Even Yushoken didn’t look appealing during that time. Perhaps, we were so fixated with playing board games that we were looking forward to a more common “comfort food”. Thankfully, Anna remembered this place called Melt Grilled Cheesery.

We looked at the interior and it somehow reminded us of Puzzle’s playfully cozy interior. It didn’t take us any more hesitations. We gave it a go.
Speaking of ambiance, Grilled Cheesery has this minimalist yet playful design that brings elegance less the intimidation. The temperature was also conducive for the perfect chill vibe. Also, since Gerone had his Monopoly Deal cards with him, we decided to push through our “board game afternoon”. Thankfully, the management didn’t refrain us from doing so.
Minutes after explaining the rules again, the dishes arrived. We decided to continue with the game after we finish our food.
The first one to arrive was the Racelette (P350). While it sounded elegant, the presentation lacked that element which underscored the dish. It also lacked the visuals which brought down the “value” of the dish. In other words, it may not be as sulit. I suggest you just double your order of the Grilled Cheese sandwiches.
The Classic Grilled Cheese (P295) was overflowing with goodness, and very much shifted our disappointment from the Racelette. The plating was spot on — it comes with this adorable glasses with honey and dip inside. The cheese was all melty and stretchy as well giving this dish an excitement as you munch.
Leveling up the classic was the Big Buff (P445) which featured the same goodness but had a meaty mix of chicken breast and pepperoni. It was further accented by bell peppers, caramelized onions and smoked paprika.
If you are on a thrift mode, the classic will do. No need to “level up”, since the satisfaction is almost indifferent. On the contrary, if you have budget to spare, why not pair your grilled cheese sandwich with some thick creamy milkshakes?
We also had Cookies and Cream Milkshake (P195), and it really brought in overflowing comfort as we took a sip. Not heavily sweet, just enough to awaken the palate.

The Melt Grilled Cheesery is a great alternative in case you are missing Puzzle’s calm and playful vibe. The dishes here are comfort-inducing which will sweep your sadness/stress away. I highly suggest this to barkadas who want to chill and catch up. Also to families who are in for a little laid-back yet comforting experience. By the way, servers here are all warm and friendly. Oh, and very attentive as well!
