Available Dishes in Century Tsukiji
Century Tsukiji offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings. From sushi to tempura, Century Tsukiji Restaurant has most of our regular cravings covered. They also have a selection of hot dishes such as teriyaki chicken, katsu, okonomiyaki and beef tenderloin teppanyaki (freshly cooked upon request). If you're a seafood lover, you'll definitely enjoy their fresh sashimi and grilled seafood dishes. And of course, no Japanese buffet experience would be complete without some matcha Japanese ice cream.
There is a dedicated room in Century Tsukiji for its sashimi, sushi and rolls
At the time of our visit, about 12:30 PM, most of the rolls were already consumed, and we have to wait for about 10-15 minutes before they were replenished. Hence, I personally suggest that you be there as close as the opening of the buffet which is 11:00 PM for lunch and 5:00 PM for dinner.
The quality of the sashimi are reasonably fresh. There are portions/cuts that are of higher grade or quality, so it really depends on the timing, and if ever you'll get to have dibs on those slices.

Of course for us Filipinos, one of the most-eyed dish is the tempura. Hence, to cater to this craving, Century Tsukiji dedicated a tempura station. The best part was that there was abundance in its availability. Each time I passed by the station, there was always tempura available for me to take. I give this a thumbs up!
There's more to tempura in this station. You'll also find some pork katsu, fish cutlets, vegetable tempura and karaage among others
The tempura was of great quality that is further enhanced by the delectable blend of the sauce.

An extra thing that I noted here in Century Tsukiji was the okonomiyaki selection. The dishes were very authentic and generous with the ingredients. Take the vegetable okonomiyaki for example, it had bountiful vegies in each bite.
🍢Beef Teppanyaki - a must try!
🍢Beef Teppanyaki - a must try!
Although I wasn't able to take a photo for evidence, one of the peak moments I had in Century Tsukiji was the beef teppanyaki which you may ask the chef to prepare for you, with the rareness of your choice. I suggest you go for the medium rare. The beef cube melts in the mouth, and I made 3 trips. That was how good it was!
Last and possibly the least interesting section was the desserts. Although there were a handful of choices, none of them really stood out, and nothing really represents Japanese cuisine well. Thankfully, you can request for Japanese ice cream, and thankfully that did the trick for us!

Overall, Century Tsukiji Restaurant's buffet is definitely a must-try for anyone who loves to binge eat Japanese cuisine. With its relatively affordable rates and quality of dishes, you'll surely have a great dining experience. Previously the price was very much worth the buck back when it was less than P1,000 for lunch. Right now, I haven't re-visited whether the current experience justifies the increase in the rate. Hence, feel free to drop your insights by commenting on this post. Once I visit again, I'll definitely update this post.
