One Plus Coffee - a creative nook in Circuit Mall (sockets included)

On the day of Christmas, I got to spend a day with my dad, since it was only the two of us who needed to go back for work. He wanted to go to a place we never explored yet, so I initially suggested Rockwell. However, while we were on our way, Circuit Mall caught our attention, and since I heard that the mall section just recently opened, I suggested that we go here instead.

I'll be dedicating a separate blog post on Circuit Mall, but I'll be putting it up in my Travel Blog at The Wander Kid Travels. For now, let's explore this coffee place my dad and I chose to burn time in. -- One Plus Coffee.

One Plus Coffee in Circuit Mall, Makati

To tell you frankly, we really did not intend to visit One Plus Coffee. I was having my eyes fixed on Macao Imperial's Milk Tea (read more), but when we got to the place. I came across a long queue. Plus, there were no longer any empty seats. I didn't have the patience to wait, so we decided to explore another place. That's how we ended up in One Plus Coffee.

When I entered the cafe, I felt a warm embrace (as if snugging me like a teddy bear) of comfort. The air was chill and cozy, and I couldn't help but loosen up further. I noticed that there were wooden elements embedded in the interior which I believe contributes to the comfort I was feeling.

One Plus Coffee also has a wide floor area with tons of tables and comfortable chairs, which is why you don't have to deal with long queues or finding available seats. In my estimate, the place can accommodate about 60 people (or perhaps even more, since they have a special co-working function room available).

If there's one thing that really captivated me, it's really the ambiance here in One Plus Coffee. Also, I noticed that there are a lot of sockets scattered all over the place, which make this place perfect for finishing group projects, term papers or any other presentations. There are overhead sockets as well for tables on the center, so you don't have to be a wall-hugger.

As for the drinks, my dad had a Dark Mocha Frappuccino (P155 for 12 oz), while I had Iced Thai Latte (P130). Both drinks were great, but we couldn't help but compare it with Starbucks. Then, while I was pondering on it, I realized that somehow the taste was considerably indifferent, but the "experience" was different. I looked at the cup, and I found out the culprit.

A suggestion for the people behind One Plus Coffee
I know that my suggestion doesn't matter, but I'm spilling out anyway -- the logo of One Plus Coffee opposes what the actual experience stands for, and I strongly feel that they need to change the logo. No re-branding needed, just a change of logo. You see, when you take a look at it, the plus sign at the center immediately grabs attention, and its color makes it even "striking" and aggressive. Yet this backfires as it associates more closely with a hospital. My mind gets all wired up, and I couldn't find the connection between the logo and the "concept" of the place.

I love the ambiance and the entire concept of One Plus Coffee, but the logo undermines all of these great things, and since I want them to gain more traction (because really I love ambiance that much), I'm hoping that they can align the elements more.

One Plus Coffee's best asset is its immensely comforting ambiance. It's like a sanctuary away from distractions, which then allows you to have a "focused" discussions with your friends. For those wanting some "alone time" or "creativity boost", this place would also allow you to literally and figuratively "charge up". There are plenty of sockets scattered throughout the place. Drinks are great, though I find the logo too distracting with its lack of connection with the entire experience. Still, I highly recommend this place!
