Denny's All Day Breakfast Dishes in Uptown Mall, BGC

Denny's All Day Breakfast Dishes in Uptown Mall, BGC

For those who have been continuously following this blog, you’ll notice that there haven’t been many posts on restaurants in BGC. Well, that’s due to my busy work schedule as well as laziness to reach the place. However, now I have an additional reason to visit the place which is aside from the reason that I really want to explore more restaurants in the area to keep this blog not too concentrated in Makati. This is the first of the many posts to come (so I hope you’ll click on the subscribe and follow buttons of this blog).

Denny's Interior in BGC

Denny’s is a relatively new addition to the growing group of restaurants called Bistro Group (where Friday’s and Italianni’s are a part of). Given that the restaurant is open 24 hours, we were supposed to dine here after our “After after party” during our company’s 71st anniversary celebration. Unfortunately for us, they were having pest control at that time. It was heartbreaking given that we can almost taste the pancakes.

Thankfully, just a month after, we finally got to try Denny’s. This time with no pest control to get in the way.

An all-day breakfast place
The interior of Denny’s has this traditional fast-food feel (from its red and yellow theme) but with an infusion of modern restaurant theme.  The temperature is conducive as well for a comfortable dining experience.

American comfort food
Denny’s menu is predominantly American with focus given on the traditional comfort food which, of course, includes all-day breakfast dishes (i.e. pancakes, ham, eggs, sandwiches, etc.). For this first dining experience, we were just able to try two dishes – pancake and pot roast melt.

Buttermilk Pancake of Denny's

The Buttermilk Pancake (P85 per piece) had an interesting texture and fluffiness which I always yearn for in a pancake. With iHop seemingly exiting the Philippine market, I am relieved that I have found a fantastic alternative. Also, with the pancake’s price, you’ll really in for a treat!

Pot Roast Melt of Denny's

The Pot Roast Melt (P525) was undeniably good with the meat being extra tender and tasty, not to mention generously cheesy. However, we found the price unreasonably high for the meal.

Denny's - Overall Ratings and Summary

Note: Unshaded stars are equivalents of half-stars. The ratings reflect my personal experiences on the times I dine here.
Place ★★
Taste  ★★
Service  ★★
Value for Money ★★
Budget: at least P350 each (with BFF Card) for a moderate to heavy sharing type of dining experience for a group of at least 4
No. of visits for this particular restaurant/branch - 1 || Date of last visit - September 18, 2017

Denny’s was able to win our hearts with its fluffy buttermilk pancakes but somehow lost us with the expensiveness of other dishes such as the pot roast melt we tried. We were just thankful that I had my BFF card with me that pushed down the prices with its 20% discount. Also, servers are friendly and highly attentive which made our overall dining experience fine.
