Konting Kuskos Seafood Paluto in Lacson Street, Bacolod

Konting Kuskos Seafood Paluto in Bacolod

Another seafood paluto place that we visited when we were in Bacolod was this restaurant named Konting Kuskos, and I'm going to share with you my experience here in this place. Upon reviewing what I've written, I realized that it appeared as if I didn't enjoy it here, but I really did. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy reading this blog post.

Konting Kuskos in Bacolod

As opposed to Diotay (read more), the first paluto place we visited, the offering here in Konting Kuskos is limited. The interior is also very different. It was less vibrant, and got this more serious look. However, things start to ease up when you go to the second floor. It has this more artistic appeal giving the area more life than what you may find downstairs.

Now, as for the food, let us begin with the squid!

Grilled Squid, Bacolod, Philippines

The squid was tender, smokey and fresh! It's simple yet totally amazing! I might even call it excellent due to its extreme freshness and quality!

I can't remember how they call this seafood delight, but some locals told us that this is an uncommon type of shell fish. I urge you to give this a try due to its unique tangy flavor.

Inihaw na Bangus

This inihaw na bangus was considerably typical yet fresh. However, I suggest that you go for other dishes rather than this one.

The scallop was bitter from the burnt garlic which for me was not much appealing. However, it was lifted up a bit with the smothered chicken oil that added a good layer of flavor. Still, for me the bitterness was pervasive.

Kinilaw na Oyster - Filipino Delicacy

The kinilaw na oyster was awesome! It got this sour tang from the vinegar but was overall tasty and fresh! If you are dining here, I'm suggesting that you go for this!

Budget:  At least P300 each for a sharing type of dining experience coming in a group of 4

Overall, Konting Kuskos fell short of my expectation when compared to my benchmark. I was expecting to find it as great as Diotay, and that did not materialize. Food quality was great, but the taste was just okay. I would recommend Diotay over this, but I am not discouraging you to give Konting Kuskos a try.
