CIBO Italian Restaurant in Greenbelt 5, Makati

It was a fine Friday when the kiddos of FSRM decided to have a lunch out in CIBO. We initially had other dining plans for that time (i.e. to have the Paetan Ramen of Kitchitora), but because of our love for these kids, we decided to forego our plan and join them instead.

I was able to try CIBO before, and I really see the place as expensive and not that sulit. However, with the hopes of having those changed, I still went for it.

What we did to somehow minimize cost and yet try various dishes was to divide the groups into sub-groups. Ours consisted of 5 people. Anyway, here are some of the dishes we had.

Spinaci Tramezzini || P255
Mozzarella, spinach and anchovy
Spinaci Tramezzini of CIBO Restaurant

By far, this is the most interesting dish I had during this particular visit. I just love how superb the dip was. Every bite of the bread with the dip on top brought out a burst of flavors.

Pomodoro Classico Bruschette || P205
Fresh tomato, garlic, extra-virgin oil, parmesan, basil
Pomodoro Classico Bruschette

Rigatoni alla Bolognese con Panna || P320 - Solo || P570 La Famiglia
Rigatoni alla Bolognese con Panna - CIBO

Although considerably expensive, this pasta dish was something I really enjoyed. It may looked really simple and un-photogenic, but I totally love how "clean and balanced" the taste was.

Pizza Tartufata || P380
Mozzarella, mushroom-truffle paste, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus
Pizza Tartufata of CIBO Restaurant

This pizza really disappointed not just me but the entire group. The taste was considerably bland, and the crust was definitely overcooked resulting to its unlovable hardness.

A Not-So-Popular Kid with FSRM and Interns

Anyway, that will be all about it, since I forgot to take a photo of the meat dish that we had. I guess I was pretty much disappointed with the pizza that I forgot to snap a photo of the last dish.

CIBO  - Overall Ratings and Summary

Note: Unshaded stars are equivalents of half-stars. The ratings apply solely to this dining experience.
Place ★★
Taste  ★★
Service  ★☆
Value for Money ★★
Budget: At least P350 each for a group coming in at least 4 for a light sharing-type of dining experience

CIBO was certainly a huge downer for me. This was my second time dining here in the same outlet, and nothing much improved. Room temperature was still not conducive for a great dining experience, and some of the dishes were poorly crafted (i.e. the pizza). With this, I am discouraged to return back here in CIBO.

However, thankfully, with the presence of my awesome friends, I was still able to appreciate this particular lunch out.
