Va Bene Pasta Deli's Authentic Italian Cuisine

Va Bene Pasta Deli's Authentic Italian Cuisine

Va Bene Pasta Deli is something I really wanted to try way-way back, but there didn't seem to have an opportunity for me to visit the place. Stress from work just never fails to get in the way. Thankfully, upon learning that we are going to have our Mothers' Day dinner celebration in Circuit Makati, I immediately searched restaurants I can find there. Once I saw "Va Bene", I immediately blurted it out and suggested the place to my mom. Finally, I was able to give it a try!

Celebrating Mothers' Day in Va Bene
It was supposedly a "perfect" day, after all it was Mothers' Day. Unfortunately, this was slightly tested when we were informed that a lot of the dishes were already unavailable. Plus, the servers showed reluctance in letting us in. Well, I badly wanted to try Va Bene, so I we insisted (of course, in the most gentle way possible). To cut the story short, we continued to dine there.

Overly simplistic interior
Upon entering the restaurants, I noticed that the interior of this particular branch has a less cozy feel, lacking the air of sophistication I had in my mind. After all, aren't Italian restaurants supposed to be fancy? Well, apparently, this is not a general rule.

However, in as much as I wanted to shrug it off, I found it bothersome. Considering the prices of the food, I was kind of expecting the place to be "worth paying for".

Authentic Italian cuisine
Va Bene is famous for its honest-to-goodness authentic Italian dishes. Prices may seem pricey as mentioned, but quality is mostly assured, especially with the supreme freshness of the pasta we had. This gives us a notion that most of the key ingredients are indeed made fresh daily. In fact, this made me realize that this is where the premium goes (and again, not much to the ambiance).

The Pollo Ripieno (P550) has this salty overall resulting from the harmonious blend of cheese and prosciutto. Compared to other dishes we ordered, this was considerably the least interesting

The Organic Eggs Fettuccine (P440) possessed the true definition of al dente -- very creamy with bold distinct truffle. Truly perfect for those truffle lovers!

The Black Ink Spaghetti (P440) was perfect with its marinara tomato sweetness that is exquisitely rich as you take a twirl. It was an instant classic!

The Risotto Saffron (P550) has this mild subtlety bringing beauty and delight to the dish. The flavors are very ticklish with the cheese giving it its creamy character and tastiness

Overall, everyone was extremely satisfied with the palatable journey. It's fantastic how we were able to experience something new and refreshing for the taste buds. My mom enjoyed the experience as well. Despite the slight disappointment over service and ambiance, the exceptional quality of most dishes we had compensates for those shortcomings.

This is indeed one of the best pasta places you'll find in the metro. Two-thumbs up for the food!
