Healthy Yet Delicious Greens in Salad Stop, Makati
Salad Stop is a restaurant where you can "stop" by and have a fresh serving of "salad" -- hence the name. It's famous for recreating salad into something more enjoyable for those who already love salad, and edible for those who are averse to it.
Balancing healthy and edgy
The concept of Salad Stop is very basic -- healthy yet delicious! We have a common notion that if something's healthy, it has got to be disgusting or at least bland, but that's what Salad Stop is trying to address -- as if telling us, "Hey, include us in your lunch out choices, we are serving food-trip worthy food (albeit salad)".
The Iron "Wo" Man Wrap (P340) is one of the adventurous combination when it comes to flavors and texture. It contains baby spinach, feta cheese, roasted pumpkin, yellow raisins, toasted almonds and raspberry vinaigrette.
On-the-go interior
The only problem I see when it comes to having a lunch out here in Salad Stop (C. Palanca St. Branch) is the lack of breathable space in its interior. The small size of the tables and the cramped up setting causes a high level of discomfort. This made us think that this branch is only suitable for take-outs and not for pleasurable dine-ins. Tagging along with a big group is also a huge NO-NO. You'll end up losing your cool with the limited seats.
The Tuna San Salad (P350) is great for those who are a fan of "tuna sashimi" as this contains almost the same goodness of a fresh raw tuna (just slightly seared). The thing about this is the edamme (or the beans you are seeing below) is somewhat intimidating.
Customize your own salad
There are about 10 preset salads that you can choose from. Each of them has its own character, but if in case you want to create your own, you are free to do so here in Salad Stop! Now, you can handpick those that are "friendly" to you, and avoid the weird looking ones.
The Omega 3 Baby! Salad (P350) contains rocket (not the kind that flies) and romaine, salmon, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, beetroot (that will stain your teeth), red onions, sunflower seeds and Balsamic Soy Vinaigrette
Just like Hail Caesar, the Big Bird Salad (P350) is another friendly dish perfect for those who are not yet introduced to weird-looking veggies and fruits. You'll also definitely love the smoked turkey with its exciting taste!
Good for those who are into liquid-diet
If you are the type who goes for liquid diet, all-natural smoothies are also available here in Salad Stop. They have Berry Grape-ful, Green Glow and Pink Panther.
The Berry Grape-ful Smoothie (P160) contains grapes, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, honey, chia seeds (that will get stuck in between your teeth, so prepare) and coco water
Lastly, if salad is not your thing, you can drop by Salad Stop for a fresh serving of yogurt as your healthy dessert. I suggest having the Greek Yogurt or the Banana-Strawberry Muesli. Both of them are good!
