If there's a cuisine I love other than my regular favorites such as Japanese and Italian, it will be our very own Filipino cuisine (with some few dish exceptions).

C2 Classic Cuisine and A Post Birthday Celebration
As a post birthday celebration, my family and I decided to dine in C2 Classic Cuisines, and it was the wisest decision ever for that day! All the dishes we had were ranging from above satisfactory to superb! Anyway, I shall no longer keep you hanging and proceed with sharing what we had!

Crispy Kare-Kare || P695
C2 bestseller! Crispy pork hocks served with sauteed vegetables and rich peanut sauce!

Top-view of this beauty - Crispy Kare-Kare!
This Crispy Kare-Kare might not have the tastiest sauce I had by far (although it was honestly smooth, creamy and fine). However, this seemingly lack of a more potent taste worked to the advantage of the entire dish because all the other flavors coming from the crispy pata, bagoong and vegetables were heavily complementary. What I mean is, had the sauce been tastier, the combined taste may become too overwhelming.

Needless to say, I totally enjoyed  the overall concept and taste because the dish made me feel like I am in paradise. Two-thumbs up! Highly recommendable!

Tinolang Binakol || P325
Tender chicken cutlets in ginger-coconut soup with sayote, sili leaves and coconut meat!

The Tinolang Binakol was unique particularly the flavor. It deviated from the usual recipe we are familiar with because of its subtle sweetness that gives more accent to the ginger-coconut taste of the soup and chicken. Plus, it was presented in an unusual yet interesting way - served inside a coconut shell.

My brother, Jeff, hailed this as the Best Tinola he had so far, and I think I'm with him on this!

Lumpiang Hubad || P195

Lumpiang Hubad was more than decent, but I think it's not worthy of a long exposure under the spotlight, since I the sauce was a little sweeter than what I think is suitable. Plus, I don't think I found the vegetable selections appealing for my taste buds.

Laing || P225
A true Bicolano favorite - spinach leaves, ground pork, shrimp paste and coconut cream

This laing was creamy, smooth, tasty and spicy all at the same time. My family thought it was fantastic, and I agree with them even if I am not a fan of laings. This suggested that the Laing of C2 was extremely good, for me to set aside my lack of fondness with a laing.

Want a more spicy version of a Laing? Then, I suggest that you try Abe Filipino Restaurant's own version of laing.
